Axis Denied

Real life Bond girl, Maria Krystyna Janina Skarbek, also known as Christine Granville, was a Polish agent of the British Special Operations Executive during the Second World War. This bombshell spy became celebrated for her daring exploits in Nazi-occupied Poland and France. Her beauty was second to her bravery. She survived some of the most dangerous wartime situations only to meet her demise in quite the ironic way. Dana tells this fascinating story this week while Cindy takes us to Poland by serving up a delicious Polish potato dumpling recipe called Kopytka for dinner and some Polish lemon sandwich tea cookies. We wash it all down with a Polish apple juice and vodka cocktail.

Story starts at 36:57
